He said the the policy is a good one, however, there is a lack of planning around it.

Speaking to NDC delegates Akyem Tafo in Abuakwa North in the Eastern region, he said the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government needs to attach 'planning and common sense' to the policy.

President Mahama, who is seeking to lead the NDC in the 2020 general elections emphasised that the focus of the government has to shift to providing infrastructure for the policy.

He maintained that he’ll review the Akufo-Addo government’s Free SHS policy , if elected President in December 2020.

The policy, according to him is taking a nose-dive because government failed to assemble experts and stakeholders for a national conference on education to deliberate on the policy.
