NDC MP demands release of Kwesi Botchwey report

The party's Member of Parliament for Cape Coast South, Kwaku Ricketts-Hagan, wants all the 275 constituencies to be given a copy of the report.

According to the former Central Regional Chairman, the report, which the party is keeping like a state secret, is causing tension among the rank and file of the party which is destructing it reorganisation effort.

He made the comments on Cti FM's news analysis show, "The Big Issue," on Saturday.

He said: "I will appeal to our leadership that I think it’s about time that the Dr. Kwesi Botchwey report which is under lock and key, is released to the party.

"I’m not talking about making it public, but  all the faithful of the 275 constituencies should see this report so that no one would have to travel anywhere, passing on sentiments already in the report.

"It is creating so many problems that rather it is distracting us from what we should be doing,” he said.

It will be recalled that a member of the Kwesi Botchway committee, Nii Lante Vanderpuye, has said the releasing the report will cause chaos in the party.

He made the comments after the Daily Guide newspaper and Accra-based Joy FM intercepted the Executive Summary of the report.

“What these people are doing, is communist inferior tactics to compel us to put the report out there. I can say as a member of the Committee that anything that possibly will induce us, coerce us or push us to put the original report out will spell the doom of the party, and I will never recommend that,” Nii Lante Vanderpuye said.
