The 2016 general elections seem to be attracting more media practitioners in the country as other big names such as Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah who was elected as the candidate for the Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency in the Eastern Region on the ticket of the NPP, Abeiku Santana (Mfantseman West, NDC), Eric Don Arthur (Effutu, NDC), Kwame Dzokoto (Tarkwa Nsuaem) and Obuobia Darko-Opoku (Weija).
The latest to join is Radio Gold's, Alhassan Suhiyini, host of political talk show, "Alhaji and Alhaji."
The broadcaster is gearing up to wrestle the Tamale North seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Northern region.
The incumbent MP for the area, Alhassan Dahamani won the seat as an independent candidate in the 2012 general elections.
However, speaking in a telephone interview with Pulse.com.gh, he said he will not declare his intentions now but rather treat the story as a rumour.
His career as a radio presenter started at Diamond in Tamale before he moved to the capital of Ghana. He had brief stints with Citi FM and Metro TV in Accra before settling with Radio Gold.
Renowned comedian, actor and entertainer, Seth Kwame Dzokoto, has revealed to Pulse.com.gh that he will contest the seat for the Tarkwa Nsuaem constituency.
He told Pulse.com.gh that “It is true I am contesting."
