Arsenal forward reacts to Keane's selfie comment

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain says Arsenal players are serious about winning trophies in reaction to Roy Keane's criticism

Arsenal forward Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has hit back at Manchester United legend Roy Keane over his comment that the Gunners are interested in only selfies.

Keane opined that Arsenal are not capable of winning the English Premier League title this season because they have too many players interested in selfies and six packs rather than winning football matches.

Chamberlain who scored Arsenal's winning goal in their 1-0 win over Chelsea to lift the 2015 Charity Shield reacted to the comment saying:

“It is a new era, isn’t it?

“Some people do it, some don’t [use social media sites].

“We are serious about winning trophies. Personally, and I can speak for the rest of the squad, we have been serious every single year I have been at the club about winning trophies.

“You can see that on the pitch when we are playing, through the season. A lot of people don’t see how upset and disappointed we are when we lose and go through tough times.

“We have always wanted to win trophies and in the last years we have won a few. This season we want to go that one better.”
