Azumah Nelson, others welcome Isaac Dogboe at Kotoka Airport after title loss

Issac Dogbe arrives in Ghana after title loss

The 24-year-old touched down at the Kotoka International Airport yesterday and was greeted by a huge crowd.

Earlier this month, Dogboe lost his World Boxing Organization super bantamweight title to Mexican opponent Emmanuel Navarette.

It was the first professional defeat in the career of the Ghanaian after he lost by unanimous decision to his opponent.

Dogboe was welcomed at the airport by the legendary boxer Azumah Nelson, as well as other members of the ARS church.

Speaking to the media, the boxer said he has learned his lessons and will make sure he doesn’t repeat his mistakes in future bouts.

“Concerning the fight, we’ve learned great lessons. We were caught up in a manner that we need to go back and re-examine what went wrong and that’s the most important thing. Now, we’ll stick to the old ways that we were doing. We’ll go with hard work and everything will be okay,” Dogboe said.

He also assured Ghanaians that he will be having a re-match with Emmanuel Navarette next year, promising that “the real Dogboe” will turn up in that bout.
