The United Kingdom's decision to leave the European Union may have prompted despair in certain quarters, but American boxer Shane Mosley was among those to celebrate the news as he claimed to have won a lucrative bet on the outcome of the referendum.
As people across the UK took to the polls on Thursday, Mosley urged his British fans to tell him how they voted via Twitter.
And within hours of a 'Brexit' being confirmed the following day, with 52 per cent of voters having backed the 'Leave' campaign, the former three-weight world champion expressed his delight.
A tweet from Mosley's official account read: "Thank you Britain!!!!! Thank you Twitter fans!!!!! Based on my poll I invested a few million on you guys leaving and I made a small fortune!"
