Asamoah Gyan suffers fresh injury in Black Stars training

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan may not be fit enough to play against Egypt in a routine 2018 World Cup qualifier against Egypt after limping out of training over a suspected thigh injury on Wednesday evening.

The Kayserispor striker will travel to Accra on Thursday to undergo further test to ascertain  the severity of the injury.

Gyan, who has battled injuries in the past years, is now a major doubt for the dead-rubber clash at the Cape.

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah may not risk his star striker with qualification to the 2018 World Cup up in smoke.

Meanwhile, Sunday’s encounter is a mere formality as Egypt have already qualified to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
