Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah snubs Ghana

English born striker of Ghanaian decent Edward Keddar Nketiah has turned down an offer to play for the Black Stars according to information gathered by Pulse Sports.

It is explained that James Kwesi Appiah asked the 19-year-old Arsenal striker to commit the future of his international football career to Ghana after they met, but the youngster turned down the offer.

Edward Nketiah who has played at youth level for England is aiming at earning a place in the three Lions of England in the near future.

Nketiah is now with the first team of Arsenal and last season he came to the rescue of the Gunners when he scored two late minute goals to hand Premier League side who were trailing by a goal a 2-1 win against Norwich in the League Cup.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Edward Nketia’s decision not to play for Ghana could be attributed to the bitterness in his father after his son was overlooked by the Black Starlets three years ago.

It is further explained that his father who wanted Nketiah to play for Ghana travelled to the country to indicate the availability of the Arsenal youngster for West African country, but he wasn’t selected for the U-17 team.

Nketiah has scored 18 goals for England at U18, U19, U20 and U21 levels and is highly rated by technical members of the England national team.
