In the irony of events, Sulley Muntari finds himself training with Kotoko’s arch rivals Hearts of Oak to keep fit, as he hopes to find a new club before the summer transfer window shuts.
Sulley Muntari as a matter of fact featured for the Phobians in a friendly against Bechem United last week.
However, in an interview with Ghana News Agency, the former Inter and Ac Milan midfielder said he would love to play for his childhood club, having lived in Kumasi all his life.
“I love Kotoko. They tried signing me when l was a young player in Kumasi. I would love to retire with them, but l would not rule out Hearts, RTU, King Faisal or Liberty Professionals,” he said.
Let’s wait for the big announcement and the new club. My agent and some clubs are talking about it so let’s see how it goes.
“At the moment, there is nothing concrete, but there are talks ongoing and if everything goes according to plan, l might be in action in the upcoming 2018-19 season,” Sulley added.
Muntari began his career with Liberty Professionals before breaking into Europe after signing for Serie A side Udinese.
