The draw was held in Cairo, the capital of Egypt on Tuesday morning.

Medeama staged a splendid, second leg performance to see off Mamelodi Sundowns from the CAF Confederation to make it into the group stage of the competition for the first time.

M.O Bejaia of Algeria, the conquerors of the Ghana Premier League champions, Ashgold will return to Ghana to face Medeama. T.P Mazembe will also visit Ghana to take on the Tarkwa lads, their first  in the country, since engaging Accra Hearts of Oak in the President's Cup in 2013. However, the Congolese giants played against Berekum Chelsea at Berekum in 2012 in the group phase of the CAF Champions League, which they lost.

T.P Mazembe have a lot of Ghanaian interest because of Daniel Nii Adjei, Richard Kissie Boateng, Gladson Awako, Yaw Frimpong and Solomon Asante

Young Africans of Tanzania will be making their first trip to Ghana to play against a side in CAF organised competition, since 1970 against Kotoko. They are coached by a man who knows Ghana so well, Hans Van der Pluijm, a former coach of Medeama, Berekum Chelsea, Kpando Heart of Lions and Ashgold.

On the other hand group B has Etoile du Sahel, Kawkeb Marrakech, Ahli Tripoli and FUS Rabat.

The first group game will be played on 17th June, 2016.

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns, have now been recalled into the CAF Champions League, following the disqualification of Vita Club of DR Congo.
