Duncan’s hope of winning his first league title in Ghana hit a snag when he lost 1-0 to the Berekum based club on the final day of the 2010 Ghana Premier League as Aduana Stars leapfrogged them to win the domestic championship.

For the past six years the tough talking coach has been criticized for not winning major silverware with the clubs he has coached.
And in responding to his critics revealed that in 2010 he nearly won the league with Ashanti Gold but due to poor officiating on the part of retired referee Mercy Tagoe he failed to achieve that feat.
“Aduana’s (title winning) season, go to (Welbeck) Abra-Appiah and Mercy Tagoe who have apologized to be me. If you don’t know am giving you this information. Let them give you a recording of the goal (Berekum) Chelsea scored but I will not contest that,” Duncan said in a press conference.

Meanwhile the retire referee who is now a coach at second-tier side Amidaus Professionals has replied to Duncan’s accusation.
“Sometimes ignorance creates so much problem, Duncan is a brother to me right from the on-set but I don’t know what his school of thought really is?,” She questioned
She added, “When he’s quizzed during his presser on why he has no league title, immediately my name pops up in his brain. David Duncan is well-educated and should know better than this. I don’t need to say things to hurt him as I love him as a brother and nothing else.”
The under-pressure trainer in the ongoing Ghana Premier League has picked one point in two games and will host Ashgold on Wednesday in an outstanding fixture.
