Asamoah Gyan doesn’t share in the opinion of people who are confident Ghana would have won the 2018 FIFA World Cup if they had booked their place.
All the five African nations that represented the continent were sent packing from the competition right after the group stage.
However, many followers of the beautiful game in Ghana believe the West African powerhouse who were denied qualification by Egypt would have won the Mundial if they had qualified for the World Cup, because the tournament has proven to be full of surprises, but Gyan thinks the argument is unnecessary.
“You see talk is cheap…everybody can say we would’ve won if we were there, people have told me the same thing that we would’ve won if we were there but the thing is we are not there…it’s assuming …we were hoping but since we are not there we should stop saying we would’ve won,” he told Accra based radio station, Hot FM.
