Maurizio Sarri chews cigarette at the Bridge because he is not allowed to smoke

Maurizio Sarri loves nicotine so much that he's resorted to chewing/eating cigarettes on the touchline during Chelsea's win over Huddersfield.

The Blues boss is known for his smoking habits, having often smoked on the bench whiles with Serie A side Napoli.

However, Sarri has so far been unable to smoke on the Chelsea bench due to English football grounds having a strict no-smoking policy.

That, though, has not completely deterred him from bringing cigs to the match-day ground, as seen during Chelsea’s win over Huddersfield over the weekend.

The 49-year-old was captured chewing the cigarettes on the touchline during the Blues’ 3-0 win at the John Smith Stadium on Saturday.

Sarri’s history with smoking is not new, having displayed such a habit wherever he goes.

At Napoli, the manager had a special smoking room created for him when the club travelled to play RB Leipzig in the Europa League.

He also hit the headlines somewhere last season after he was captured smoking in the tunnel while accompanied by personal bodyguards.
