Nevertheless, there have been Ghanaian players who have made the most out of little football activities in the year.

Thomas Partey

He has been one of Ghana’s best players in 2020. He established himself as a key member of the Atletico Madrid team and his fabulous form attracted many suitors including Manchester United, Roma Arsenal, etc.

He finally ended up at Arsenal after Atletico Madrid had rejected about three offers for the signature of the Ghanaian midfielder.

The Gunners coughed up £45 million to meet the buy out clause of Thomas Partey to sign the 27-year-old from Atletico Madrid.

He has hit the ground running at his new destination, having won two Man of the Match awards against Rapid Vienna and Manchester United.

Aside from his superb club form in the year under review Partey has excelled with the national team in the few matches he has played for the Black Stars, notable among them was Ghana’s 5-1 win over Qatar.

Jordan Ayew

The Ghana striker continued from where he left off in 2019 and continued to bang in the goals for Crystal Palace.

He was honoured during Crystal Palace end of the season award when he clinched the Fans Player of the Year, Top scorer and the Goal of the Season.

In the English Premier League season in the 2020/21, Jordan Ayew has played 7 matches (plus 1 as a sub). He has scored one goal.

The Vice Skipper of Swansea City has been the best player of the Swans last season and in the ongoing 2020-2021 English Championship season.

He was named the best player of the club last season and he is the leading top scorer of the club this season.

In the English Championship in the 2020/21, André Ayew has played 12 matches (plus 1 as a sub). He has bagged six goals for the side.

Ayew is also Ghana’s top scorer in 2020: He has bagged four goals in three games. Ayew registered two goals as Ghana defeated Qatar 5-1 and again bagged two goals in Ghana’s 2-0 win over Sudan in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Sudan.

The Ghanaian midfielder has established himself as one of the best youngsters in the world at the moment and he has been shortlisted for the Golden Boy Award, which is for U-21 players.

Kudus joined Nordsjaelland from the Right to Dream Academy in 2018 and has since developed into one of the most important players at the club.

The teenager netted 12 times in 26 appearances for the Danish Superliga side last season.

Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam paid 9 million euros to secure his signature from the Danish side.

Ajax playmaker was voted man of the match on his Eredivisie debut game against RKC Waalwijk in September when he made his debut.

He registered his first goal for Ajax against Heerenveen in a game he provided two assists as well.

Richard Ofori

The Ghanaian number one goalkeeper had a great season with Maritzburg in the Premier Soccer League in South Africa.

He saved his side from relegation by been outstanding min between the stick by pulling off great goalkeeping to protect his post.

He was shortlisted for the best goalkeeper in the league for the second consecutive season.
