Former President Rawlings sings to wish Azumah Nelson happy birthday in advance

Rawlings organizes a gathering in honorof Azumah Nelson ahead of the boxing legend's birthday on July 19

 Azumah Nelson turns 60 years on July 19 but his mentor former President Jerry John Rawlings just could not wait as he kick started the celebrations by cutting a birthday cake in his honor.

The event held on Monday at Rawlings' Ridge residence saw the former President lead a 'Happy Birthday Song' for the three-time world boxing champion.

The early celebrations also had former Kumasi Asante Kotoko management member and CEO of the Kenpong Group of Companies. Kennedy Somuah Agyapong to as well grace the occasion

Azumah also paid tribute to former President Rawlings for the vital role he played in his career when he prevented him from joining the military. We can as recall the former President was in fact a military ruler before he assumed the role as Ghana's first head of the state in the forth Republic

Rawlings explained that he did not want the security that Azumah would get in joining the military to smother, contain or lessen the burning fire the boxer had in him.
