The duo, both of Suriname descent put pen to paper on separate four-year contracts at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education, in the presence of Minister Bidoung Mkpatt and the Chairman of the Cameroon FAs (FECAFOOT) Standardization Committee, Dieudonné Happi.

According to the FECAFOOT website, the contract mandates them to reside in the country and also supervise and assist the coaches of Cameroon's other national football teams.

Former Deportivo de La Coruña trainer, Seedorf and Paris Saint-Germain Director of Football, Kluivert arrived in the African country yesterday ahead of the signing.

Seedorf, 42, is expected to name his complete backroom staff for the Indomitable Lions in the coming days.

Cameroon becomes the fourth team Seedorf is managing after brief (less than six months) coaching stints with Milan (2014), Shenzen (2016) and Deportivo (2018) while Kluivert, 42, has had stints as assistant coaching with AZ Alkmaar, Brisbane Roar and the Netherlands national team.

Both players had stellar, trophy-laden careers in European football. Seedorf is considered one of the most successful players in UEFA Champions League history, as he is the first, and currently the only, player to have won the Champions League with three clubs – once with Ajax, in 1995, once with Real Madrid, in 1998 and twice with Milan, in 2003 and 2007.
