Brazilian forward, Robinho has been found guilty of sexual assault according to reports from Football Italia.
Robinho and five other men were found guilty of a charge which started far back as 2013. The incident is reported to have happened in a night club in Milan where Robinho and these cohorts assaulted a 22-year-old woman.
Robinho played for Real Madrid, Manchester City and later on played in Italy with AC Milan.
The crime’s timeline is in line with when the player was contracted to the Rossanieri.
However, the Brazilian will have an opportunity to dispute the sentence as the Italian law system allows for "several levels of appeal" before any sentence is enforced.
Robinho now plays for Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro.
The Brazilian football star has 100 caps for the Brazilian national and has 28 goals to his credit.
The 33-year-old has also played 108 games for AC Milan where he scored 25 goals.
Robinho has prior history of sexual assault since he was accused of raping a university student in a Leeds nightclub in January 2009, by English portal the Telegraph.
