The skipper of Ashanti Gold Shafiu Mumuni has been appointed captain of the Black Stars B with immediate effect according to reports.

He has been in a spectacular form, scoring a hat-trick in their CAF Confederation Cup tie against Akonangui FC and also scored in the Miners 3-2 win over RS Berkane of Morocco.

Ghana have struggled to book a place in the CHAN since 2014 when they finished runners-up- they have failed to qualify for two consecutive championships, so Shafiu Mumuni has a herculean task on his hand as he leads the Black Stars B.
