Messi vows to walk 68km if he wins the World Cup

The Argentina captain has vowed to take a 68km walk, starting from his home town, if he is able to win the World Cup.

The Argentina captain has won everything at club level with Barcelona, but is yet to do same with his national team.

Despite boasting an Under-20 World Cup medal, as well as an Olympic Gold medal with his country, Messi is yet to do same at senior level with the Argentina national team.

And it appears the 30-year-old is now ever desperate to lay his hands on a trophy with his national team, starting with next year’s FIFA World Cup

You may call it desperation, but Messi is actually willing to go any length to grab that gold with his national team.

The five-time Balon d’Or winner has promised that he would walk 68 kilimetres if he is able to win the World Cup with Argentina.

According to him, the journey will start from his home town Rosario and end in San Nicholas – a city that one could spend up to 14 hours on foot to get to.

Confirming how serious he was to win the World Cup, Messi told TYC Sports: “I will go on footto San Nicholas.”

As to whether Messi will be able to keep his promise is another things, but what is certain is that the Barcelona star is really bent on winning the World Cup with Argentina.
