Shah was suspended by the BCCI in July last year for making an "illegal approach" to a player.

A BCCI statement read: "Ajit Chandila is banned for life from playing or representing cricket in any form or to be associated in any way with the activities of the Board or its Affiliates.

"Hiken Shah is banned for five years from playing or representing cricket in any form or to be associated in any way with the activities of the Board or its Affiliates."

Umpire Asad Rauf had also been scheduled to attend a hearing on Monday, linked to allegations of bribery in the IPL fixing scandal.

Rauf did not appear and instead sent a reply asking for a fresh enquiry, claiming the initial investigation had not been conducted in a fair manner.

The disciplinary committee rejected that request and has given Rauf until February 9 to submit any written statement ahead of a February 12 hearing.
