The injury troubles of Black Stars skipper, Asamaoh Gyan continued on Monday when Al Ahly suffered a 0-2 defeat against Uzbek side Tashkent in the Asian Champions League.
The 31-year-old picked up an injury in the course of the game and had to be pulled off to make way for someone else.
In the game, Lokomotiv midfielder Salamat Kutibaev scored the second fastest goal in the tournament's history to give his side the opener.
Before in the 57th minute, Bikmaev went from provider to goalscorer by slotting past visiting custodian Majed Naser after Sardor Mirzayev’s assist.
Gyan has been sidelined by series of injuries since joining United Arab Emirates club Al Ahly Dabai. The former Sunderland striker has made just eight starts for the UAE side as a result of the recurring injuries.
Asamoah Gyan however was fit for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and joined the then Black Stars coach Avram Grant and his men for the competition. The captain of the senior national team of Ghana had an injury scare at the tournament in Gabon but regained his fitness to play again for Avram Grant's team.
The Black Stars skipper joined Al Ahly from Shanghai SIPG last summer.
