Italian Seppi has slipped to 74th in the world and his struggles continued with a 6-2 6-3 defeat at the hands of German Jan-Lennard Struff on Sunday.

Struff managed to break Seppi's serve four times to cruise to victory in just over an hour at the ATP 250 event.

Seppi now holds a 17-19 win-loss record this year.

Brit Evans booked a meeting with top seed Richard Gasquet courtesy of a 6-3 7-6 (7-3) win over Portugal's Gastao Elias.

In a battle between two Frenchmen, Stephane Robert came out on top against Paul-Henri Mathieu 4-6 6-2 6-2.

Wildcard American Bjorn Fratangelo took his chance with a 3-6 6-4 6-2 win over Russian Evgeny Donskoy, while Lu Yen-hsun got the better of Illya Marchenko 7-6 (7-5) 6-3.
