Andrew Dodt stretched his lead to three strokes at the Mauritius Open, while Nicolas Colsaerts surged up the leaderboard with a stunning seven-under-par 65 on Friday.

Australian Dodt carded a first-round 66 and a solid two-under 70 in his second left him at eight under par for the tournament, three clear of South Korea's Jeunghun Wang - victor at the Trophee Hassan II last weekend.

But the biggest move of the day came from Colsaerts, who had nine birdies and two bogeys in a brilliant round that left him in a tie for third, four shots off the pace.

Dodt, was two clear overnight, was three under for the day - including a fine chip in at 12 - until a double-bogey seven at the par-five 13th hindered his progress.

Birdie, bogey followed at the 14th and 15th, and one more gain at the last ended his round on a positive note.

"You've got to be as tough as you can and miss in the right spots. I didn't strike the ball as well as I did yesterday, but I missed in the right areas, where I could still get up and down," he said.

Wang's round was somewhat hit-and-miss. The highlight was an eagle three at 13, but three bogeys blighted his card.

Siddikur Rahman was level par for the day and he is joint third with Colsaerts.

Belgian Colsaerts, a former Ryder Cup player who has not won on the European Tour since 2012, was five under through the first nine and four more birdies followed on the way home, bogeys at the 10th and 16th the only disappointments.
