Xavier Pascual Vives' Barca side made the trip to Brose Arena looking to enhance a 2-3 record and boost their play-off chances.

However, it was the hosts who improved to 3-3. Bamberg trailed 17-13 by the end of the first quarter, but moved ahead by half-time after outscoring Barca 22-15 in the second - and they edged a tight second half to pick up the win.

Janis Strelnieks top scored with 16 points for Bamberg, while Darius Miller added 15 in what could prove to be a crucial victory.

Panathinaikos struck a blow to Cedevita's play-off hopes with a big 78-60 win on the road in Group E.

Both teams went into the contest with a 2-3 record, but it was the Greek side - on the back of 21 points from Miroslav Raduljica - that improved their position.

Lokomotiv Kuban moved up to second in the pool with a comprehensive 82-64 win at Unicaja.

Also in Group E, Darussafaka finally earned a win at the sixth time of asking after edging Crvena Zvezda 69-66 at Volkswagen Arena.
