Dr. Abdul Issahaku was appointed in April after former governor Dr. Henry Kofi Wampah resigned five months clear of  the end of his tenure.

It is believed that Dr. Issahaku, who before his appointment as governor of the Bank of Ghana was the second deputy governor of the central bank, was appointed for his potential to manoeuvre the country’s dealings with the IMF.

Banking experts say they expect the current governor to maintain the policy rate at 26% for the third month.

The central bank in April maintained the policy rate at 26% citing relative stability in the macroeconomic indicators.

Financial analysts believe the indicators, like inflation and forex rates have remained the same.
