Woman proposes to girlfriend during Ryan Gosling's movie premiere

A woman asked her girlfriend to marry her during the U.S premiere of Ryan Gosling's directorial debut, Lost River, at the South By Southwest (SXSW) at the weekend.

During the question & answer section of the screening of the polarizing film (which briefly took Gosling away from acting), a woman used the opportunity to ask her girlfriend of 11 years to marry her.

The woman, instead of asking a question about the film, turned to her girlfriend for an unexpected proposal.

"I want the rest of my life to be with you," she said after Gosling handed her the microphone.

Her girlfriend said yes, and Gosling congratulated them, while Lost River co-stars, Eva Mendes and Saoirse Ronan, applauded the two on stage.
