The Chicago Blackhawks ended their four-game losing streak with a 4-0 thrashing of the Winnipeg Jets in the NHL on Friday.

Patrick Kane, Marian Hossa, Andrew Ladd and Tomas Fleischmann scored as the Blackhawks finally returned to winning ways.

The Blackhawks struck twice in 26 seconds in the second period and also netted twice in quick succession in the third.

With the shut-out win, Chicago moved to within three points of Central Division leaders the Dallas Stars.

Daniel Winnik scored a double as the Washington Capitals cruised past the Nashville Predators 4-1.

Evgeny Kuznetsov set up three of the goals as the Predators' two-game winning streak was ended.

The Anaheim Ducks shut out the Boston Bruins in a 4-0 victory, on the back of 38 saves from Frederik Andersen.

Goaltender Cam Talbot was also in fine form as his 40 saves saw the Edmonton Oilers to a 2-0 win over the Vancouver Canucks.

The Buffalo Sabres set up their 3-1 triumph over the Ottawa Senators with a fast start, while the Colorado Avalanche had a 4-3 shoot-out victory against the Calgary Flames.
