The Chinese Embassy has donated items including desktop computers, printers, UPS and a cheque for 10,000 Ghana cedis, to the office of the Attorney General.

The donation is aimed at supporting the Attorney General’s Office towards organising a stake-holder's consultative workshop, on the Office of the Special Prosecutor Bill, 2017.

Madam Sun Baohang, the Chinese ambassador outlined her country’s readiness to assist the Government of Ghana in fighting corruption.

However, it appears the goodwill from the Asian super power has not gained the appreciation they were perhaps looking for.

Chinese businessmen have been some of the major contributors of cash and equipment to illegal gold mines in Ghana.

Here are some comments gathered on social media about this subject.
