The game was wrapped up after half an hour into the ninety minutes game with goals from Kwame Boahene and Abass Mohammed. That was an ideal way to overcome a two-legged tie knowing the first leg ended goalless in Sudan.

The Sudanese side settled into the game from kick off and had decent control of the game with their patient build ups. At some point, they made better incursions than their host who were rushing themselves to score.

The Tarkwa based side were lucky not to have paid for some defensive lapses which were the results of easy lost of possession in attack. The Shendy attackers also have themselves to blame for not stepping up their efforts to make them count for goals.

Medeama had a fine opportunity in the 24th minute but Enoch Attah Adjei after chest controlling a pass from Akwasi Donsu, shot wide from inside the box.

With that sniff on goal, Medeama finally scored as Attah Adjei, Kwame Boahene and Abass Mohammed combined nicely with a string of passes, before Boahene powered a low shot just inside the box. Goalkeeper Yassien Yousif failed to grab the ball and the quick footed Boahene followed his shot to nick in the rebound for the first goal in the 27th minute.

The second goal came from the effort and foot of lead striker Abass. He won a free kick for his side and despite the presence of Donsu and Malik Akowuah, who are known for set piece goals, Abass decided to take. From that 22 meters, he curled the ball over the human wall into the net for his third goal in the continental competition.

The fans deservedly enjoyed for trouping to the Sekondi stadium on a Wednesday afternoon. Their turn out was impressive and they cheered their team on.

The FA Cup winners were denied a third goal in the 49th minute when Boahene was adjudged to be offside after slotting home a rebound to Akowuah's free kick which was spilled by Yousif.

There were two other good chances for Medeama to increase their lead but Donsu and Boahene all put wide their close range finishes to end the game with the two first half goals.

Medeama now awaits the losers from the Champion League for the last qualifying match before the eventual group stage competition.
