Veteran Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti is to replace Pep Guardiola as manager of Bayern Munich at the end of the current season.

Guardiola’s contract at the Bundesliga champions expires at the end of this season and he is set to leave the club with Manchester City likely to be his next destination.

The Spanish coach is said to have turned down a new offer from the club and will announce his decision to leave the club next week.

Ancelotti who has been without a job since he was sacked by Real Madrid at the end of last season is reported to be in advance talks with Bayern to take over from Guardiola.

Since his sacking at Madrid, Ancelotti has been on a sabbatical in the United States butis said to be ready to return to management.

Ancelotti has won the Champions League twice as a player and three times as a manager.

Guardiola has failed to win the Champions League so far at Munich.
