World number 24 Wozniacki rolled her ankle during practice on Thursday, placing her out of contention for the Fed Cup matches in Egypt between April 13 and April 16.

The 25-year-old will also be forced to miss the Istanbul Cup, which begins just two days later, but is hopeful of a quick return.

"Rolled my ankle during practice today. Very said to miss Fed Cup and Istanbul, but I'll be back soon," Wozniacki posted on her official Twitter account.

The Dane suffered a third-round exit in her previous competitive outing at the Miami Open in March.
