More importantly, what's cooler than an underground bar, hidden from the glare of everyone but still providing all the social needs of any great bar?

With September upon us, we can't overemphasise how great a time it is to travel now and specifically at this time to Germany because of Oktoberfest, arguably the biggest beer party/festival in the world.

Now that we've stressed the importance of a bar, we'll go right ahead and tell you the best underground bars to visit in German city, Berlin should you find yourself in the territory for Oktoberfest.

3. Prinzipal Kreuzberg: This bar is touted as a ‘rabbit hole’ leading to a far more adult Wonderland.

4. G&T Bar: G&T is hidden in the backyard of a building and is stocked with over 100 gin brands.

5. Bar Immertreu: The sign on this bar reads: “Serious drink’n. No Wifi. Cash Only”. Need they say more? It's also few minutes walk from the previously mentioned Beckett’s Kopf.

9. Fairytale: It's not just the quirky name of a bar, their cocktails are based around different fairytales, they range from absinthe-scented “Snow White and Rose Red” Old Fashioneds, to “Cinderellas” served in Louboutin glass slippers.

10. Trust Bar: If you're looking for a place to mingle with Berlin's young and hip, then this hip place is for you.
