England all-rounder David Willey has been ruled out of the upcoming one-day international series against Pakistan due to a hand injury.

The left-arm seamer was struck on his left hand after Mark Stoneman drilled a delivery back at him during Yorkshire's defeat to Durham in the semi-final of the T20 Blast on Saturday.

Willey underwent an X-ray on Sunday, which has "not excluded a significant injury", and is set to undergo a further scan and visit a consultant on Monday.

The 26-year-old, also a destructive batsman on his day, will play no part in the five-match ODI series and has been replaced by seamer Jake Ball.

England and Pakistan contest the first game of the series in Southampton on Wednesday.
