Designer's report - suit up

I must confess I had a mindset that the first day of fashion week was going to be very casual but I must confess that I was pleasantly disappointed. Many of the guys came ready to take charge of the show in their various power suits.

We had the likes of Denola grey accessorizing with his gold shield, Noble Igwe in a tuxedo style ensemble, Akin Faminu in a one-of-a-kind newspaper print suit and Egbodoku Quadri Jadesola strutting the red.

So for those of you who may be trying to decide what to wear, looking at this trend, it’s safe to say an easy way to make your mark at the Lagos Fashion and Design Week is to go with a suit. After all, you can never go wrong with a well-fitted suit.
