Draymond Green addresses arrest for assault charges

Draymond Green has vowed to learn from his arrest after the Golden State Warriors forward was charged with non-aggravated assault.

Golden State Warriors power forward has Draymond Green addressed his arrest for the first time, labelling it as something he will learn from.

Green was arrested Sunday after an incident at a restaurant in East Lansing, Michigan - the location of his alma mater Michigan State.

He is accused of slapping a heckler and was charged with non-aggravated assault.

"When things happen, you meet them head on," Green said at a tech conference in Colorado.

"My legal team is handling it. It will be resolved really quickly. As a public figure I can't put myself in certain situations. It's something that I'll learn from and move on."

Green, also a member of the United States men's basketball team heading to the Olympic Games next month, was released on $200 bail after the arrest. He waived his right to an arraignment.

Despite the incident, Green, 26, is still expected to play in Rio de Janeiro. He was named to his first All-Star team this season after averaging 14.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game.
