ADMA demolishes structures on pavement

The exercise, which was carried out around 10.00am, affected structures, including unit transfer tables, mobile phone stands, food joints, sited opposite the American House station at East Legon.

Members of the Adentan Metropolitan Assembly (ADMA) taskforce on Friday morning demolished some wooden structures situated on the pavements of some principal streets within East Legon in Accra.

When Pulse.com.gh visited the scene, some victims were busily gathering broken pieces of wood, and other items they could salvage from the incident.

One of the traders, said members of the taskforce alerted them three days ago to move away from the pavements.

A victim, who trades in mobile phones said he was amazed at the action by the ADMA, considering he and his colleagues were about to move from the place as directed.
