Mali’s last patient cured

The Ebola outbreak in Mali has been successfully contained as the country’s last confirmed case of the disease has been certified Ebola-free.

The ministry added that the patient had been discharged on Thursday after testing negative for the Ebola virus.

Mali recorded eight cases of the disease after a sick 2-year-old girl and an infected elderly Imam entered into the country from Guinea.

Ebola has killed over 6,000 people since the outbreak first began in March.
