EC writes to Dr Nduom et al

The Electoral Commission (EC) has written the 2016 presidential nominee of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) to produce the subscriber who is alleged to have endorsed the presidential forms of Dr Nduom twice in with the same voters ID card.

The letter which was signed by the Chairperson of the EC Charlotte Osei demanded that Richard Aseda is brought to “the head office of the Commission, prior to the close of nomination.”

The EC chair earlier stated that Dr Nduom was disqualified, “because again the number of subscribers in his forms did not make the requirements of regulation 7(2) of CI 94.”

The details are as follows, one subscriber, Mr Richard Aseda, with voter ID number 7812003957 endorsed Dr Nduom’s forms in the Central region and again endorsed the same forms with the same ID number in the Volta region but with a different signature.

The letter addressed to Dr Nduom continued to state that there are other “concerns and discrepancies” found on the nomination forms of the party.

The letter finally advised that they should remember they have to meet all legal requirements before they are allowed to contest in the presidential race.

The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed the EC’s suit challenging the High Court ruling asking the Commission to allow Dr Nduom to correct the errors on his nomination forms.
