Mr Borketey tendered in his resignation to contest on the party’s ticket to the national executives over the weekend.

Sources close to the party indicate that Mr Borketey has not been feeling well for some time now, hence his decision to step down.

Meanwhile, the party has began processes to open nominations for interested candidates to contest the area.
