Ghana’s second lady Mrs. Matilda Amissah-Arthur has urged Ghanaians to unite for peace ahead of the 2016 elections.
She was speaking during donation to the Axim Government Hospital and some selected schools in the Nzema East Municipality in the Western region.
The second lady noted: "The people of the region must unite for the development of the region towards peace, unity and accelerated socio-economic development."
Some of the materials she donated include beds, mattresses, crutches, Zimmer frame, trolleys, theatre equipment, wheel chairs, safety boxes, syringes, among others.
She asked authorities at the hospital to ensure that the materials are well managed in order to enhance their lifespan for healthy delivery.
In a bid to make reading a priority among pupils in the region, the wife of the Vice President also donated some educational materials to school children of the Roman Catholic JHS in Axim, Manye Academy, Mpatim JHS, Roman Catholic School and the (Gwira Banso) all in the Nzema East Municipality.
