The elections have been postponed over alleged irregularities and other concerns raised by contestants.

The NPP in the Manhyia North constituency is the only one in the Ashanti Region that has not held its primary for the party yet. There are three aspirants hoping to lead the NPP in the November polls in the constituency.

They include incumbent Member of Parliament for the constituency, Collins Owusu Amankwah, Richard Osei Bamfo and Kwesi Konadu.

There had been several failed attempts to elect both constituency executive and a parliamentary candidate. This is because some parliamentary candidate aspirants accused the executive of intentionally bloating the register.
