The programme will aim at enhancing social protection services notably for vulnerable population groups and to generate decent employment opportunities, with a particular attention to the youth.

It will be implemented under four areas;

Enhance effectiveness and efficiency of the social protection system, improve employment policy management at central and local level, strengthen technical and vocational education and training opportunities for the informal sector and in agricultural value chains and Improve access to effective Business Development Services and finance in an enabling business environment.

This was disclosed when the Head of the European Union Delegation to Ghana, Ambassador William Hanna led a delegation of a team of experts to pay a courtesy call on the sector Minister, Mr Haruna Iddrisu, in Accra yesterday.

Mr. Iddrisu said one key focus of the EU support to Ghana this year would be to assist the country to address problems that hamper the employment sector.

Touching on the areas of support, Mr Iddrisu said it will go a long way to assist Ghana to enhance its economic outlook this year.
