The versatile and pacy striker penned a two-year deal with the capital based side after successful medicals last week and Agbashie can’t hide his joy about the opportunity to play for the club he supported as a kid.

“It is an indescribable feeling, I am very glad of course,” a clearly elated Agbashie told Adacommunityonline.com exclusively.

“Hearts is the biggest club in Ghana and Africa and I’m privileged to have signed for them. They have all the facilities to help me improve on my goal scoring skills, as a footballer and person,” he added.

Agbashie who hails from Assigbekope, near Kasseh in the Ada East District was one of the outstanding players in Ghana’s topflight last season despite his club’s relegation, banging in eight goals. His prowess, eye for goal and exploits influenced Hearts to snatch him on the Ghanaian transfer market.

Ghana’s FA Cup champions Medeama FC also made inquiries about Agbashie’s availability but the fast rising hitman opted to join the former continental club masters who are preparing feverishly for the new Ghana Premier League season.

The striker who started his career with his hometown club, Dangme United minced no words at all in revealing his deep love for Accra Hearts of Oak and why his joy knows no bounds after finally joining them.

“I am a big Hearts fan, when I was growing up I used to support them and I’m very excited that I am now in their camp. I have to do everything beyond my powers to help the club win more laurels,” Agbashie said.

“Hearts is one of the greatest teams in Africa and I am very keen to play a positive role to return the club to its glory days, God willing and to give my best for the team and for myself,” the former Dangme United striker affirmed.
