Former Black Stars coach, Sam Arday began his journey to eternity after being laid to rest at the Osu Cemetery on Friday.

Sam Arday died in February after failing to recover from an illness.

The legendary coach boasted a glittering CV, with includes coaching heavyweights Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.

He also led Ghana’s U-23 team to win bronze at the 1992 Olympic Games, before later guiding the Black Starlets to the U-17 World Cup title in 1995.

The mortal remains of Sam Arday were finally laid to rest on Friday, April 7 at the Osu cemetery in Accra.

The burial ceremony was graced by a host of dignitaries including Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah and former Ghana president Jerry John Rawlings.

Vice president of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie was also present, together with some former footballers, as the late coach was buried.

Sam Arday had two stints with the Black Stars, and was the Technical Director of Ghana Premier League side WAFA before his demise.
