Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service who managed to get to the area quickly however failed in attempts to rescue the three children trapped in the room.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but residents suspect that it might have been fuelled by gallons of pre-mix fuel stored in the house.

The father of the victims, who had allegedly tried to rescue his children, also failed and sustained some injuries in the process.
