He argued that people like Kwabena Yeboah, Carl Tuffour, Joe Aggrey, Felix Abayetaye, etc raised the bar in terms of the standards of sports journalism in the country, however it is nothing to write home about these days.

Nyantakyi, who is the Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) made this statement at the 3-day summit held in Cape Coast to help bring reforms to the level of football in Ghana.

"The standards of journalism we knew when growing up which was clearly espoused by people like Kwabena Yeboah, Joe Aggrey, Carl Tuffour, Felix Abayatey…

"It is regrettable that they did not hand over the standards beyond their generation," Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi stated unequivocally.

Kwesi Nyantakyi further said that the GFA would want to partner the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) by organizing seminars to assist the media in sports

"We want to build a strong relationship with SWAG.

"We want to help SWAG to understand what we do better. They already know, but we want to provide more information.

"We want to work with SWAG to organize seminars for the media so that the media can also interrogate our activities further."

Despite scolding the media, Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi however, believes that the media and the GFA are partners and must work together to achieve a common objective.
