Techiman City winning streak at the Nana Yaw Amayew Park in Techiman was brought to an end when the Phobians held them to a pulsating goalless draw game on match day seven of the 2016 Ghana premier league on Sunday.

Prior to the game, the premier league debutants have won all their home games but they were given a good run for their money; for the first time in the ongoing season they failed to score a goal at home.

It was a quick start to the most hyped premier league game as the early minutes mark was dominated by Techiman City with their enterprising midfielder Baba troube Hearts of Oak’s left back Kennedy Appiah with his space and skills.

The Phobians struggled to put two or three passes together as they mostly relied on long balls but on most occasions experienced Iddrisu Yaya in City’s defense out muscling youngster Ibrahim Musah.

The home side in the 15th minute almost got the opening goal but Soulama Abdoulayewas on guard.

Techiman City kept the heat on the visitors, but they failed to break down Hearts of Oak’s back four.

From the 25th minute, Hearts of Oak had a breather and started putting their act to together as Isaac Mensah in one of his creative duties sent Ibrahim Musah through but the latter missed his shot with Frank Boateng at his mercy.

Chances were far and few as the first half ended goalless.

From the recess, the Phobians improved their first half performance as they won the midfield battle with Mustapha Essuman had the better of City’s Isaac Baah.

Both sides were much determined for the three points as they were at each other’s throat looking for the first goal.

Techiman City came close to registering the first goal after Baba Mahama rattled the crossbar in the 56th minute, the Phobians responded two minutes later, but Ibrahim Musah fluffed the chance he had after he was put through on goal by Eric Kumi.

With 10 minutes to end the game, the away side took total control of the game as second half substitute, Foovi Aguidi who came on for Samuel Yeboah tormented City’s defense led by Iddrisu Yaya.

Aguidi late in the game nearly scored for the Phobians as Frank Botaeng spilled off his 25 yard strike. The two sides failed to break the virginity of the game as the match ended 0-0.

Hearts of Oak on Wednesday will host WAFA while Techiman City play as guests to Dwarfs on match day 8 of the ongoing campaign.
