Hearts of Oak will not appoint a new assistant coach

Reports were rife in the local media that the Accra giants are planning to appoint a new assistant trainer to take over the position of Yaw Preko.

“Accra Hearts of Oak have no plans to bring in any assistant coach because we have one already. For some reason people want to see things in a different way. If that is how they chose to see it, there is not much we can do about it,” Opare Addo told Accra-based Class FM.

He added:

“I don’t know where these rumours of rifts between the head coach and his assistants are coming from. I personally took the pains to enquire from Sergio, Yaw and Nasamu whether they have issues between them and they all laughed it off, which suggested there is nothing like that. Even the team manager Sabahn Quaye denies it. So that’s it.”

The Phobians are top of the log sheet with 34 points and they will host Berekum Chelsea on match day 20 on Wednesday.
