Last Sunday during Medeama’s Premier League away game with Asante Kotoko, the Swedish tactician was stopped by the club’s technical director Evans Adotey from effecting a substitution in the first half.

Due to that Strand boycotted the club’s second half game as the technical director of the club took charge of the team with the game ending 2-2 in Kumasi.

“I am the technical director and I have every right to take decisions. He decided not to stand at the technical area so I chose myself to take over,” Adotey said.

“The reason being that he wanted to effect a substitution that the technical bench was not in agreement to. So coming all the way from the dressing room after recess we didn’t see him so I decided to take over.

“When he came, I confronted him and he said he wasn’t happy, he wanted to make a change and we refused him.”

But the former Bechem United gaffer has hinted that he will resign if the club’s management or the technical director interferes in his job.

“The thing that happened on Sunday that is not how I want to work and I don’t think any club want to work that way so I hope it will not happen again. And we tried to look ahead and see what we can do.

“If I go back to Sweden or if I get offer that looks attractive and it is a nice challenge I would love to take it and see what I can do with it,” Strand told Kasapa FM.

Tom Strand is expected to be in the club’s dugout in their weekend’s CAF confederation Cup battle against Libyan giants Al Ittihad in the first leg tie of the prelims which will be played in Tunisia.
