Swansea City lodge £3M bid for defender Andy Yiadom

Ghana and Barnsley right-back Andy Yiadom could soon be playing in the Premier League after Swansea City lodged a £3 million bid for him.

The English-born Ghanaian international joined the Championship outfit last season, and made 32 appearances as Barnsley finished in 14th position.

His impressive performances in the English second-tier have made him the subject of bids from a couple of clubs, including Swansea City and Huddersfield.

The Sun reports that Barnsley has already rejected three bids for the right-back, however, an improved £3  million offer from the Swans could prise him away.

The 25-year-old is reportedly keen to play in the English topflight, having played his entire career so far in the lower tier.

Yiadom had earlier attracted interest from Huddersfield, but Swansea's offer is set to gazumped that of the Championship outfit.

Swans coach Paul Clement sees the Ghanaian as a key part of his plans for next season, and is bent on securing the services of the defender before the start of next season.
